ADMISSIONS

The school search isn’t always easy, but we’re here to make it as smooth as we can. With our individualized and personal admissions process, you can make sure you get all the answers you need before you make any decisions. And with our rolling admissions and no hard deadlines, you can look into joining Nora before the fall or during the school year, whenever the right timing arises.

Find Out What We’re About

What are the steps? To help you learn about your options, we host monthly Open House Information Sessions. We also make ourselves available for even lower-pressure initial phone conversations.

When you apply, we’ll interview your student and then invite you and your student in for a Shadow Visit. The application also asks for several academic teacher references and grade reports. We’ll discuss all of this in our conversations together.

For Student Tours, your student will have a much more meaningful and personally connected tour when they visit us during the Shadow Visit. Parents/Guardians have a tour that day as well.

School officials and professionals are welcome to attend our Open Houses or contact Admissions to make a separate visit.

Get to Know Us

Once you’ve met us, it’s time for a deeper connection. Every prospective student gets a chance to meet our teachers, sit in on classes and see what it feels like to be a student for a half day - before you commit to a decision.

You can learn more about our teachers right now!

The Nora School actively seeks a diversity of backgrounds and talents among its students and staff. We do not discriminate on the basis of age, sex, gender, race, disability, faith, national or ethnic origin in administration of our educational policies, admissions and tuition/fee adjustment practices, staff hiring, or athletic and other school-administered programs.

Join our Pride

Our online application is the only paperwork you have to complete! Simply follow the instructions at the link. From there, each student & parent gets a one-on-one interview with our Admissions Director and with our Head of School, to make sure the Nora School can fit your needs. Your student will also have the opportunity to sit in on some classes to get their individual “feel” of the school.

Join our Journeys for Justice for an unforgettable experience!

TUITION

Apart from a one-time Senior Fee ($1000 to cover one-on-one college counseling, transcript preparation and processing, a senior retreat and graduation exercises) and some optional trips (e.g., the annual ski trip), the tuition is all-inclusive and covers the costs of all books and supplies – including a new Chromebook to all incoming students – field trips, art and lab supplies, and even our Social Justice Journeys. For the 2024-25 school year, tuition at The Nora School is $37,900.

ADJUSTED TUITION

Adjusted tuition is available for families. The Nora School aims to be an inclusive learning community of belonging, and welcomes families of all backgrounds, resources and income levels. Adjusted Tuition is based on individual circumstances, and is available for admitted students whose parents complete an application. In the case of divorce or separated parents, we require information from both households. Typically, we make such adjustments for about one-quarter to one-third of our families until our allotment is met.
